Our goals
The Master Network has two main goals that drive what we do and how we do it. The first goal is to connect students to the working field. We aim to give students insight into what is out there for them to engage with and probably work in after their time at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences. To achieve this we organise several events, such as company visits, (lunch)lectures, and the yearly In-House Tour.
A part of this goal is also to prepare students for taking their first steps into the working field. We provide workshops and lectures on useful skills and tools to give them a head start. Examples of these are: workshops to prepare you to perform at your best when you need to, for an interview; workshops to help build a better CV and cover letter; workshops to improve soft skills such as creative thinking; etc..
Even though our focus lies on master students, all our activities are open for every student at our faculty, this means both master and bachelor students.
Our members
Our committee members are mostly master students, most of which have been active within the association before. Together we think of ideas for activities and events, and we meet once a week to discuss these ideas and to decide how to move forward. Next to this, each member is responsible for a specific task, such as finances, promotion, acquisition and secretarial tasks.
Joining the committee
You can apply for the committee twice in a year, at the beginning of each semester. Applying is done through the official application procedure of Ibn Battuta. Keep an eye on their socials! There is no automatic rotation in committee members, so you can be part of the committee for longer than a year. On average, our members are part of the committee for 1,5 years.
